Ching Ying Jao – “Jao” – is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is fully committed to the growth and well-being of his clients. Jao has extensive work experience in community mental health, individual psychotherapy, clinical case management, and in the assessment and treatment of addictions. Jao also has experience supporting clients and families to manage chronic health conditions and brings many skills from his years in the practice of medical social work. Jao understands the complex issues related to aging, traumatic injuries and grieving related to the disease process for families, couples and individuals. In this context, Jao has developed an extensive understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare and Medicaid health benefits and processes for ensuring adequate support and utilization of benefits. Jao is a proponent of “multi-disciplinary” healing and promotes “continuity of care” regularly reaching out across a client’s multiple providers to achieve best outcomes.

Jao – who is also fluent in Mandarin – utilizes a blend of evidence-based practices (CBT) and a client-centered approach combined with a diverse and deep consideration of cultural concerns to his therapeutic practice. Jao has extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma-related diagnoses, substance use and mild to severe mental illness. Jao is familiar with and maintains a current understanding of common medications used to treat a variety of mental health conditions for those clients who wish to supplement therapy with medicine. Jao’s belief is that change is possible. His expertise rests in plotting a course to wellness in partnership with his clients – his standard is excellent results .
