Kendra has been practicing as a Licensed Social Worker in Hawaii for 22 years in both an acute care hospital setting and in Hospice. During this time she has also provided counseling and therapy through telehealth services to numerous clients. Throughout her career she has worked with individuals and families with grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem challenges, medical and health concerns, and crisis and trauma management. Kendra is able to support her clients’ needs by blending a variety of therapeutic techniques including Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Kendra received her Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Hawaii in 2000 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2010. Kendra was born and raised in Hawaii, is of Native Hawaiian ancestry and has a passion for supporting the local community in both her professional capacity and in numerous volunteer roles.
Through her various roles (daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend, grandma, auntie) she has had a wide variety of life experiences that have helped shape who she is and how she serves individuals in her community, through empathy, compassion, and understanding. Kendra’s focus in therapy is to guide and support each individual to gain more insight, awareness, and knowledge with the goal of learning healthy coping strategies for life’s challenges.
