Clinical Intern
Aloha! I am a pre-licensed therapist and graduate student studying Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Mental Health Counseling at Naropa University, a school that emphasizes a holistic approach to healing rather than a medicalized one, grounded in Buddhist philosophy.
I take interest in the complexity of the human experience and healing through relationship, acceptance, and somatic experiencing (working with your body). I approach therapy with the belief that many of the struggles we face are not signs of weakness, but understandable responses to life’s challenges.
When we look closely at ourselves we often find that every governing part of us - every piece of shame, anger, depression, anxiety, every compulsion to turn away was created as a way to love and protect our very essence. What formed us into the people we are? What decided whether we view life through the lens of peace or overwhelm? I believe the body knows how to heal us, if we only learn how to give it the space to do so.
I strive to create a therapeutic space that is thoughtful, compassionate, and collaborative. I am trained in approaches that explore the present moment and deepen awareness of emotional patterns, including Gestalt, Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) work. In my work with clients, I value curiosity, honesty, and the courage it takes to look closely at oneself while moving toward a more authentic and meaningful life.t
