Carol L. Nowak, PhD is a licensed psychologist who has been in clinic practice in Hawai’i for over 30 years.  She specializes in assessing children, adolescents, and adults with learning differences and AD/HD.  Her assessment experience spans work with the Hawai’i Learning Assessments (Big Island & O’ahu), Hawai’i Resources for School Success-North Hawai’i Women and Children Services, State Department of Education, Queen’s Medical Center, Hale Kipa, Pacific Autism Center, and Kahi Mohala.

Dr. Nowak has specialized professional training in Promoting Student Success: Clinical Assessment & Management of Differences in Learning and Advanced Clinical’s Training, jointly sponsored by the School of Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Student Success Services, and All Kinds of Minds.

She utilizes a Neuro-developmental approach to Psycho-educational and AD/HD Assessments that emphasizes strengths in the student and adult.  She assists students and their families and adults to understand their learning profiles and develop interventions and learning strategies.  This then allows the individual’s strengths and affinities to be leveraged to compensate for their learning differences and challenges with attention.
