Jennifer Pamintuan, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

My name is Jennifer Pamintuan and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I view my role as therapist as an “advocate” for my clients. My approach to therapy is always that the therapeutic relationship is a collaboration with shared goals and hopes for a more fulfilling life. I view the therapeutic process as turning individuals inward to identify and reinforce individual strengths and making it possible for individuals to rely on those strengths!

My therapy practice draws upon best practice interventions rooted in Mindfulness and Solution Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Crisis Intervention. I believe that the purpose of therapy is uncovering what has been hidden or clouded by unhealthy or “old” ways of understanding current versus past challenges. Together, we create new patterns of thought that will increase feelings of well-being and happiness.

My practice focuses on clients who may be experiencing anxiety and depression experiencing life changes and subsequent difficulty understanding their own feelings. It is important for me to create a therapeutic space that is comfortable and open and I am always curious. I am caring and supportive of my clients while also being honest and direct when needed. While clients are learning, I am learning as well. I am open to feedback and open to adjusting the direction of therapy when appropriate.

Initial sessions are mainly information sharing between myself and the client. While we are learning about each other, we are also establishing rapport. I am trained to be a therapist, I am not trained to be “your” therapist. I wanted to be a therapist because I value relationships and look forward to growing one together with you. I believe that ALL people are born mentally and emotionally healthy.
